"School" and "Teacher" What do they really mean?
First and foremost, a salute to all the teachers in the world.
So much to say, but where do i being? Well, I haven't really been a good student. No, not with pretending to be sick, lying about homework and what not's. It's amazing how teachers can it all in, holding their anger and at the same time, imparting their knowledge to us.
13 years of education that I've been through, not counting the 2 years in Kindergarden. 13 long years. Waking up early in the morning just to go to school. Still remember all the pranks that my friends and I used to play in school. Teachers come and go, changing almost every year. More subjects to be studied being added every year and not to mentioned the increasing amount of homeworks and projects.
13 years of education, an endless amount of teachers that have taught me. Each one of them lasting a deep impression in my memory. Some of the teachers didn't even teach my class, and yet, they still made an everlasting impression.
From form Teachers to DMs and Principals, they taught me much. When I look back now, it seems that sometimes, we the students are going too far. Copying homework, escaping punishment, skipping school, etc. etc.
It really makes one wonder how much more that they can give? They have their own family to return to. And yet, beside teaching us the subjects that they are supposed to teach, they still find time to teach bus about life lessons. Sharing their experiences with us. Counseling us when we have problems, coaching us with our subjects if we ever face any difficulties.
Great teachers, each and every one of them.
If you are wondering about why I'm writing this post, it's because I've just finish reading the manga GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka. It's about Eikichi Onizuka, a 22-year-old ex-biker whos crude, foul-mouthed, and has a split-second temper. His unlikely goal: to be the Greatest High School Teacher in the World!
Before he can become a full instructor, he's got to work as a student teacher to earn his credentials. Onizuka may think he's the toughest guy on campus, but when he meets his class full of bullies, blackmailers, and scheming sadists, he'll have to prove it. And he did it by going out of his way to help his students.
That makes all teacher great. A salute to all the teachers again. For the amount of time, their sweat and blood into this profession, helping and moulding th next generation into shape.
